Roberto Da Costa uses his wealth and business savvy to become the head of the X-Corporation, then leverages this to take over the scientific society Advanced Idea Mechanics (A.I.M.). He renames it Avengers Idea Mechanics and ousts some of the old guard to turn it into a scientific global rescue squad with his New Avengers team.
